The Microzoo is a website which educates people about small mammals, gastropods and insects. We strive to have the most up-to-date facts and information, as well as frequent updates including more bugs to research about on this website. 🐌🐜🐀
Meet The Mascot
You might be wondering if our team owns any animals. And to cut a long story short, we do! We own 4 animals:
Sparrow the chicken, A colony of Messor barbarus ants, And loads of fish.
But one stands out the most:
Pup the garden snail.
Pup joined us not that long ago. He was found stuck in a drain with a cracked shell and at risk of drowning. Luckily, we got him out and nursed him back to health over the next 2 months. The day we planned to let him go, we decided to keep him as a household friend. He lives his best life in a large, aerated terrarium with plenty of hiding places. He is surprisingly smart, yet he has moments where his brain evaporates entirely and he becomes a blob of confused slime. He also has an amazing personality. He is always trying to hide in the most dramatic nooks he can find. He enjoys rides on electric toy trains and ends up asleep before he even gets into his shell.
In the Future
The Microzoo aims to grow into one of the world’s most inspiring nature websites. In the future, we plan to offer live Zoom sessions for schools and home‑schooling families.
